The Bug Show: Close Encounters with Insects and their relatives
The "BUG Show" is a unique, hands-on program that allows you to use ALL your senses to learn about the mysterious world of Bugs (insects and their relatives). You’ll get to examine close-up, perhaps even handle, an assortment of LIVE arthropods (hand-sized Cecropia moths, mouse-sized Hissing Cockroaches, pencil-sized millipedes, and hand-sized tarantulas). You’ll also see unique, weird & wacky exotic preserved insects from around the world and learn about the (sometimes comical) defenses they employ to survive. Perhaps you’ll even sample my special bug snacks – called Larvets.
This presentation will be indoors due to the fragility of the tarantulas. Masks are optional in the library.
