Superior: A 50-Year Photographic Journey with Craig Blacklock
This 60-minute presentation takes the audience on a stunning visual voyage around the world's largest freshwater lake by surface area. Drawing from five decades of photography, Craig will share the stories, challenges, and changing landscapes behind the lens, capturing Lake Superior’s raw power and quiet moments. It is an engaging mix of learning to pay attention, art, history, and travelogue that appeals deeply to photography enthusiasts, cabin owners, and nature lovers alike. The first 20 minutes will include a video, Lessons from Superior, first developed for a talk to the U of M Center for Spirituality and Healing, where Craig is a senior fellow. Following the video, Craig will take the audience around the lake, giving them specific information about geology, human history, and a few personal experiences. The program will end with Q&A and book sales signing.
Books will be available for purchase at the event.
