Exploring the Arts with Steve Schroer: Animation in Classic Hollywood
Shortly after pictures began to move, artists figured out how to make them without pointing a camera at reality. This talk will sketch the history of American animation from the beginning into the 1960s. We will pay plenty of attention to the big two – Disney and Warner Brothers – but we will also consider smaller players, including Fleischer Studios, Walter Lantz, Terrytoons, Jay Ward, and Hanna-Barbera.
