Chris Bremer has been a Washington County Master Gardener (WCMG) Volunteer since 2019. She is co-lead for the WCMG Milkweed, Monarch, and Pollinator program, as well as co-lead for the “Fairest Garden,” featuring 16 educational gardens located at the Washington County Fairgrounds. An avid gardener, Chris tends to five acres of land, including both woodlands and prairie. Class participants will benefit from her many years of experience in establishing both shade and sun gardens using native plants. Her gardens provide a welcoming environment for many varieties of pollinators.

Laura Hathaway discovered the art of food preservation in her forties. Within just two years, she entered her homemade apple butter and won a Blue Ribbon on her first attempt! Building on her initial success, she participated in the Washington County and Minnesota State Fair, earning numerous ribbons. In 2016, she became a Master Gardener volunteer and completed the University of Minnesota Extension course on Food Preservation. As a registered Minnesota Cottage Food Producer, she is passionate about teaching others how to preserve food, whether from backyard gardens, or fresh finds at the Farmers Market
