Teens Make Stuff: Introduction to Oil Paints
Registration opens September 30 at 9:30 AM.
Today, most painters use acrylic paints for the sake of simplicity, but there are unique characteristics to oil painting that the acrylic medium cannot capture. Join this introductory workshop at R.H. Stafford Library led by a professional artist from eHolt Art to learn more about and practice using oil paints. You will use a panel to paint a landscape, learning to build layers, push contrasts, create dynamic texture, and more!
Registration required. No previous experience needed. All you need is an interest in oil painting and a creative spirit! This workshop is for beginner-level artists in middle and high school (ages 11-18). Due to space limitations, we encourage grown-ups and siblings who wish to stay nearby to browse the library collection or explore other areas of our library during this time. Please let staff know if you have any concerns.
This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
