Design Your Own Tarot Card

Design Your Own Tarot Card

Tarot is a creative, mystical practice of using beautifully illustrated cards to meditate, focus oneʼs thoughts, and perhaps even get a glimpse of the future. Whether one believes in divination or not, itʼs undeniable that the art and the history of the Major and Minor Arcana are fascinating. We will talk a bit about the history of Tarot, starting as an Italian card game and then evolving into the mystical practice we see it as today. Then we will sketch out designs, use pen and ink to line our work, and use markers to add color and embellishment. Participants will leave with up to three cards as well as backers and protective sleeves to hold their finished artwork.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
