Afoutayi Haitian Dance, Music, and Arts

This interactive performance at Oakdale Library is a presentation on Haitian cultural heritage where participants discover Haiti and the Caribbean through dance, drums, singing, stories, games as well as the French and Kreyòl languages. During the presentation, the audience will be engaged in a dynamic and educational experience, where they can witness the artistry and then experience the art themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.

Afoutayi Haitian Dance, Music and Arts is a performance company and nonprofit arts organization. Their mission is to promote Haitian and Afro-Caribbean heritage and diversify contemporary representations of Haiti through music, art, dance, and history education. Afoutayi promotes Haitian heritage while empowering communities through creative expression.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
