MN Birds with Andy Weaver (at Stillwater Library)
As the Naturalist-in-Residence for Stillwater and Bayport public libraries, retired SAHS biology teacher Andy Weaver invites children ages 8 years and older and their adults to learn about the rich ecosystem of the St. Croix River Valley. He will bring many preserved Minnesota bird specimens - no live birds. We'll learn about how data is captured through bird banding and how to use different birding apps. For those interested, we'll walk to a nearby ravine from the library to look for birds.
This session will take place indoors but there is an outdoor MN Bird program on Saturday, May 17, at 8:00 am at Valley View Park. Andy will demonstrate how birds are trapped and banded in the field.
