Grow Your Own Vegetables
If you want to grow your own vegetables or have tried and been overwhelmed by weeds, this class at Oakdale Library is for you! Using research-based information, this class will teach you how to plan, prepare, plant, and manage your vegetable garden through the growing season. It includes tips on site selection, choosing varieties for Minnesota, proper planting and good management practices regarding pests and diseases. We will also discuss home composting, extending the growing season, and the best time to harvest. Presented by Washington County Master Gardener Tyler Torgrimson.
Tyler has been gardening for more than three decades. Along with his family, Tyler maintains a large vegetable garden, an orchard, a section of annuals and perennials, a lawn, and woodlands. His vast experience is guaranteed to help participants learn tips, and a few tricks, on how to be successful at vegetable gardening!
