Washington County is home to a wide variety of feathered friends. Join local birder, photographer, and professional guide Kyle Te Poel to learn about local birds.

Kyle is based in Stillwater, Minnesota. He earned a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota, and has worked for the National Audubon Society, National Park Service, and the University of Minnesota. After working in educational and research positions for many years, he launched his own business in 2016: Next Bend Birding Tours.  Next Bend Birding Tours provides services in Minnesota and throughout the United States, drawing clients annually from across the globe. Kyle has been featured in the Star Tribune, New York Times, and a host of other local and national magazines. Kyle was one of a small number of professional birders hired to complete Minnesota's first ever Breeding Bird Atlas, and is currently the only bird guide in the United States to be formally certified as a Green Business.
